Welcome to HeathKat Farms, founded in 2021. We have now been in our home for a while and the weather has warmed. Lots of changes, our chicken flock has expanded and out goats have gotten bigger. We are trying our hands at turkeys as well...so many changes with so many more on the horizon. For now we are focusing on raising what we have and have been putting thought into how we will expand our ranch as the time passes.
Our hearts remain thrilled with our decision to move here. We truly love the rural feel and culture.
We have been getting snow. The past two Wednesdays have been like a Winter Wonderland. It has been snowing for 12 hours now!
20 minutes south of Hemet, 30 minutes east of Temecula, our homestead is out of the way while still being close to services.
Our view from from our backyard is gorgeous, a pine crested mountain is our horizon. The front and sides are fine too!
The lot is cleared and ready for set up. We have taken time to get to know how other ranches have their garden areas set up so that we can get off to a running start. For the first year, our plan is to grow the vegetables that we need to see what works well and what requires lots of attention to grow correctly. Eventually, we will set up a simple greenhouse that we can have fresh vegetables even in winter.
